The People’s Democratic Party in the South West has urged the Federal Government to acknowledge and address the mounting challenges faced by Nigerians, calling for urgent measures to ease their suffering.

“We are committed to amplifying your voices in our quest for a better Nigeria,” said Sanya Atofarati, the PDP Southwest Publicity Secretary, reaffirming the party’s solidarity with the people during these difficult times.

In a Christmas message released in Ado Ekiti on Wednesday, Atofarati conveyed the party’s best wishes for joyful celebrations and a prosperous 2025 to the people of the South West.

He stated, “As we gather to celebrate this joyous Christmas season, we extend heartfelt greetings to all our fellow citizens. This time of year traditionally symbolises love, unity, and hope — values that resonate deeply within our communities.”

Addressing the harsh economic realities, Atofarati highlighted the struggles endured by many Nigerians, lamenting that “the policies of the ruling All Progressives Congress have, regrettably, been perceived as anti-people, intensifying the hardships faced by everyday Nigerians rather than alleviating them.”

He called on the Federal Government to prioritise the welfare of its citizens and to acknowledge the heavy burdens they bear daily.

Despite these challenges, Atofarati urged Nigerians to remain hopeful.

“This Christmas, let us unite in solidarity, supporting one another and working towards a brighter future. May the spirit of the season fill your homes with joy, love, and hope,” he said.

He concluded by encouraging Nigerians to strive for a country where every citizen can enjoy dignity and prosperity.
