Recently questioned about his future, Zinedine Zidane admitted that he was in no hurry to find work. “It’s already been three years since I was coach of Real Madrid, even if I remain in my head every day. I’ve been a player, I’ve been a coach, and I’ve always been a jack of all trades. But today, I want other things. I also enjoy my life. I take care of my children, my grandchildren too, since I recently became a grandpa. My life is full, and that’s the most important thing for me.”

However, the 52-year-old remains more popular than ever even though it has now been three years since he coached. Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United, Bayern Munich and even Brazil have tried their luck with ZZ. In vain. Zidane would have liked to succeed Didier Deschamps at the head of the French team, but the extension of DD (until 2026) negotiated on the sly with Noël Le Graët spoiled his plans.

Zidane stays calm

Since then, Zidane has been talked about again in Saudi Arabia. Yet another rumor recently reported an interest from the SPL who would love to see the Frenchman be part of the galaxy of stars engaged with the aim of promoting the Kingdom with a view to the 2034 World Cup. But according to Christophe Dugarry, his great friend will not give in never to petrodollars. “He won’t go, he will never go. If he had to go, he would have been there a long time ago. (…) He offered his services to the French team, but we told him no. Afterwards, he does what he wants.”he declared on the microphone of RMC Sportbefore adding.

“I already asked him the question: ‘why don’t you communicate?’, he said to me: ‘why do you want the media to make my agenda and my calendar? All it takes is for any media to send a sausage and I have to confirm, inform, say that I’m not available?’ He is calm at home, he doesn’t ask anything from anyone”. Zidane lovers will therefore have to be patient before seeing him again at the head of a team. Unless an unexpected opportunity manages to seduce him.
