The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria and the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development in the United Kingdom have launched mutual membership recognition, giving Human Resources professionals access to global resources to attain international standards.

The CIPM-CIPD launched their Mutual Recognition of Membership at the CIPM HQ office in Lagos recently.

A statement by CIPM noted that mutual membership recognition allowed CIPM and CIPD members automatic dual membership, expanding their career opportunities and networks globally while advancing professional HR standards.

The President and Chairman of the Governing Council of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria, Ahmed Gobir, said, “This partnership between CIPM and CIPD is a monumental step toward elevating HR standards across borders.

It underscores our commitment to empowering our members with the best tools, knowledge, and recognition needed to compete and succeed on the global stage.

“We are proud to continue leading efforts that bring transformative opportunities to Nigerian HR professionals and to build stronger international collaborations.”

Also, the Head of Membership at CIPD UK, Oli Howard, stated, “The launch of this mutual recognition agreement is not merely about connecting two institutes; it is about forging stronger global links that empower HR professionals to make a meaningful impact in their organisations and communities.

“We are thrilled to partner with CIPM in this shared vision of promoting excellence in people management. Who better to partner with than the leading regulatory body for human resources management in Nigeria?

“After thorough discussions and evaluations, we can confidently say that CIPM members are exceptionally qualified, making this partnership a valuable opportunity.”

According to the institute, the CIPD and CIPM Nigeria share a vision to develop future-focused HR professionals with a global mindset, embracing change and diversity to unlock potential.

“Both institutes are committed to supporting HR growth, mobility, and knowledge sharing to elevate the profession,” it noted.
