President John Dramani Mahama has officially terminated the appointment of the Director-General of the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), Charles Kraikue.

The decision, which was communicated in an official letter dated April 2, 2025, takes immediate effect.

The letter, signed by the Secretary to the President, Callistus Mahama (Ph.D), directed Mr Kraikue to hand over his duties to Stephen Wilfred Arthur, who will serve as the acting Director-General of the Authority.

“The President extends his gratitude for your service to the nation,” the letter stated, acknowledging Kraikue’s contributions during his tenure.

The termination notice was also copied to key government officials, including the Vice President, the Chief of Staff, and the Minister of Transport. However, the reasons behind the sudden dismissal remain undisclosed.
