Manchester United are having to consider alternative targets to Viktor Gyokeres due to his desire to compete at the highest level next season.

For a lot of players, Champions League football is a non-negotiable factor when it comes to choosing their next destination, and that is believed to be the case with the Sporting Lisbon frontman.

It isn’t, however, an issue for longstanding Red Devils target Victor Osimhen, who’s expected to be on the move this summer when his loan spell with Galatasaray expires.

The renowned No.9 departed Napoli late last summer after notoriously falling out with manager Antonio Conte. The pair clashed heads so much that Osimhen was removed from the side’s Serie A squad list and stripped of his number, after which Conte made it crystal clear that Romelu Lukaku would be his primary striker moving forward.

A collapsed move to Saudi Arabia culminated with the player signing for Galatasaray on loan for the term. Unsurprisingly, his outstanding goalscoring form has only continued in Turkey, and he has notched 26 goals in 30 appearances across all competitions.

Now, in the aftermath of United fans learning of Gyokeres’ disinterest in an Old Trafford switch, they have been granted a boost in regards to Osimhen.

TBR Football claims United ‘have been informed’ that the Nigerian would be willing to join irrespective of their current league positioning, while his representatives have also told his Saudi Pro League suitors that he is keen on finally plying his trade in England’s top-flight amid interest from a host of clubs.

United, Aston Villa, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Newcastle United are all considering attacking reinforcements leading up to the transfer window, though the latter would only require an out-and-out centre-forward if Alexander Isak leaves.
