Newcastle United members will discover on Thursday afternoon what has happened in the latest ballot for home tickets.
This is for the St James’ Park match against Brighton on Saturday 19 October.
Beyond whether or not you get tickets for any particular match, there are ongoing headaches for Newcastle United members with how things are done, including a ticketing website/process which often appears to have a life of its own.
Glitches are frequent, including things that work one time/match, but not the next, for no apparent reason.
Anyway, there have been some improvements made overall by the club this season, most importantly, now starting to have ballots further in advance of the matches, giving Newcastle United members far more notice of whether they have been successful or not. Particularly important for all the Newcastle United members who aren’t local.
Now there has been another positive tweak.
With NUST (Newcastle United Supporters Trust) reporting via social media:
‘In our monthly meeting with the club on 9th September [2024] we discussed our recent survey regarding ticketing issues.
Off the back of that meeting, together with our suggestions, the club have now implemented a change in communications.
When unsuccessful in a member ballot the email notifying you will now also contain details and a link to the Members general sale.
The link in that email should alleviate double queue issues.
This will hopefully lead to a much smoother supporter journey.’
