When CM Punk returned, he made his intentions clear that he planned to main event WrestleMania. Punk came close at the 2024 Royal Rumble match but he fell short to Cody Rhodes.

Following that match, Punk announced that he tore his triceps and would require surgery to repair his arm. Hence, he would be missing WrestleMania 40 and would have to postpone his dream of maineventing WrestleMania.

Today at WrestleMania XL Press Event, CM Punk was on the panel of hosts with his arm bandaged up. During the show, he mentioned that he has undergone surgery and is still not 100%.

“Well, it sucks,” he began, as he showed his arm in a protective brace over his suit jacket. “I am one week from surgery today and it’s still not 100 percent, so I’m a little upset about it.”

He continued to say that he would still be involved in the mix and could piss a lot of people off since he still has a mouth.

“I am heartbroken I cannot compete at WrestleMania,” he continued, “But like I said …[fans boo]…oh don’t worry, I’m still in the mix.

“I’m still gonna piss a lot of people off. My mouth still works. My brain still works,” he concluded.

It looks like CM Punk will be more involved than expected on the Road to WrestleMania. It will be interesting to see what transpires between him and Drew McIntyre on RAW.
