CM Punk joins a cult in his latest acting gig.
The new trailer for Let’s Start A Cult dropped online on Friday.
CM Punk is featured towards the end of the trailer in two spots. He can first be seen greeting a character he refers to as “Three Balls Billy.” The end of the video features Punk being left hog-tied on a gravel road, where he screams about the rocks scraping his penis.
Fans might also notice that Punk is sporting a closely cropped hairstyle, which he doesn’t understand why it upsets fans.
What is Let’s Start A Cult about?
According to Deadline, Let’s Start A Cult is “a dark comedy about a doomsday cult. After being excluded from a long-awaited mass suicide, obnoxious cult member Chip returns home, only to remember why he left his disapproving family in the first place. When he discovers his charismatic former cult leader William may still be alive, Chip tracks him down and presents William with an ultimatum: either go to prison for his crimes, or help Chip start a new cult, this time as co-leaders. Their uneasy partnership is put to the test as the two hit the road and gain new followers including a good-hearted Army reject, a loose cannon mom in the throes of a custody battle, a retired female pro wrestler and a nursing home escapee with a death wish.”
Director Ben Kitnick adapted the story from his short film of the same name. The film stars comedian Stavros Halkias, and the cast includes Eric Rahill, Katy Fullan, and Daniel Simonsen, with cameos from Ethan Suplee, Joe Pera, Tom Papa, and Phil “CM Punk” Brooks. Punk’s involvement was first reported by Movieweb in August.
Let’s Start A Cult is in theaters on October 25.
