CM Punk recently said he would love to work with Shawn Michaels and learn more about the NXT system.
Punk previously appeared at NXT Deadline 2023. He has also attended NXT tapings and worked with talent at the WWE Performance Center.
During a live signing at Fanatics Fest NYC, Big E joked that Punk might one day try and run NXT and take it out from under Michaels. Punk said that he would love to work underneath Michaels. (H/t Fightful for the transcription),
“Baby steps. I would love to work underneath Shawn at some point,” CM Punk said. “It’s not like I want Shawn to go away, ‘Here, take over.’ I would want to learn from him and see how he operates and how he does things. NXT is sort of left alone. Triple H lets Shawn….he trusts Shawn. From NXT to the main roster are wildly different. I think it’s good to know both systems, and I can learn from everybody.”
Punk is set to appear on the October 1 episode of NXT in Chicago.
WrestleZone will have coverage of WWE NXT as it airs on Tuesday.
