The self-proclaimed Best in the World CM Punk made his return to WWE last night on Monday Night Raw. He showed up and certainly had a lot to say. He called out stars like the Rock, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Drew McIntyre.
Backstage, CM Punk was interviewed by Cathy Kelly. Punk shared that he has a responsibility to entertain the sold-out Chicago crowd because most of them are there because of him.
“It did [feel exactly the way CM Punk thought it would feel like]. I’m obviously injured. I am not 100%. I’m not medically cleared. And I feel, when I come here, there’s 16,000+ people and you are responsible for a lot of them being there. This place is sold out tight, hanging from the rafters, I feel such a responsibility to want to give them a show that I can’t right now. Because I’ve paid the price of being a professional wrestler since I was 15. But I felt I gave them a little bit of that guy. I gave them the CM Punk that they know and love, that they want to see. That dangerous guy on the microphone.”

The Straight Edge Savior also mentioned that he is happy to see The Rock back in WWE and teased that the two stars will cross paths soon.
“I’m glad The Rock’s back. It’s good to see that he knows his role and he’s kept his mouth shut. Anything goes here. In this new era of WWE, with me being back, I’m going to cross paths with everybody sooner or later.”
CM Punk also revealed last night on Raw that he was going to be sitting at the commentary booth at WrestleMania 40. While speaking to Cathy Kelly, the Second City Saint claimed that he would have loved to be a Special Guest Referee for the World Heavyweight Title match. But he chose not to because he cannot be an impartial official when Rollins and McIntyre are involved in the match.
“Yeah. I think Drew would say that we have to figure out something for me to do to justify my bloated contract. But let’s face it. Who is the five-tool player in WWE right now? It’s this guy. I like to maybe try my hand out as a referee. But honestly, I would not be able to be impartial with those two idiots. So, maybe commentary is the best thing to do,” CM Punk said.
