CM Punk Slams The Beatles as “Phony Boy Band” in Wild Rant

Leave it to CM Punk to drop the most polarizing take of the week—right in the middle of WrestleMania season.

In a new clip posted by Jackie Redmond on March 30 from her latest edition of “The Segment,” she asked several WWE Superstars the same question: “What do you like that everyone hates?” While responses from Maxxine Dupri, Ivy Nile, Cody Rhodes, and The Usos were fun and safe, CM Punk’s answer was pure fire.

“The Beatles!” Punk declared without hesitation. And then he let it rip. “Overrated. Phony boy band that was manufactured and went through shitty phases. ‘We’re hippies now. We’re psychedelic now.’ Fuck you, Sergeant Pepper,” Punk said, flipping off the camera for good measure.

You could almost hear every classic rock fan clutching their vinyl. The moment instantly became the most talked-about part of the segment, especially considering Punk’s reputation for saying exactly what’s on his mind—no matter the fallout. Whether it was a work or just his unfiltered opinion, Punk didn’t hold back one bit.

Jackie’s quick-hit interview segment continues to give fans a look at the personalities behind the personas, but when it comes to controversial honesty, no one delivers quite like the self-proclaimed Best in the World.

What do you think—was CM Punk out of line trashing The Beatles, or is he just saying what others are afraid to admit? Drop your take in the comments below—we want to hear from you.
