Cody Rhodes is quickly becoming a fan of Joe Hendry.
The Scottish star has been a revelation so far this year. After getting over with his hilarious parody entrance songs in TNA, he blew the roof off the building by making his NXT debut in the spring.
Despite failing to defeat Ethan Page to win the NXT title, Joe Hendry is still a fan-favorite. Campaigns to get the Christmas number one hit and represent Britain at Eurovision have kept him in the public consciousness. This is something Cody Rhodes has kept a keen eye on.
Cody Rhodes recently spoke with Josh Martinez of the Superstar Crossover podcast, (H/T to Fightful for the transcription). The WWE Champion was asked if he believes in the TNA star, which he revealed that did.
He called Joe Hendry “great”, revealing that he “really likes him”.
“Yeah, he’s great.” He said to Josh Martinez. “He’s a good kid. Really good. I like him.”
Hopefully, Cody Rhodes’ endorsement will give Joe Hendry the inspiration he needs to become TNA World Champion for the first time.
Cody Rhodes Wants UK WrestleMania In The Next Five Years
Cody Rhodes wants WrestleMania to come to Joe Hendry’s home country within the next five years.
Speaking with BBC 5Live recently, he commented on the possibility.
“If I’m aiming, it would be cool to get it [in the UK] in the next five years,” Rhodes said. “There’s some really big venues over here that could host a WrestleMania. “I think American fans would jump at the chance to come to a WrestleMania [overseas], whether that be in Manchester or London, I think they’d go nuts for it.”
