Cody Rhodes met up with an old friend at WWE SummerSlam.
At WWE SummerSlam, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes defended the title against Solo Sikoa in a Bloodline Rules match, meaning that it was an anything goes match. Ahead of the bout, Rhodes was shown backstage. He walked his dog, Pharoah, who was on his last trip before he retired. Cody then reunited with WWE Hall of Famer Arn Anderson.
Anderson gave Cody Rhodes a pep talk and told him that he still had some friends, some of whom were on the way, presumably to have his back in the match.
Anderson previously worked for WWE for several years as an agent/producer. He later reunited with Cody Rhodes in AEW and worked as his manager/coach. Rhodes left AEW and returned to WWE in 2022. Anderson departed AEW when his contract expired on May 31, 2024.
As of this writing, there is no word on whether Anderson’s appearance was just a one-off or something more. WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
Arn Anderson On Potential Return
Arn Anderson previously commented on potentially returning to WWE and reuniting with Rhodes. Speaking on Busted Open Radio, he addressed the possibility.
“Well, in case you don’t know, I am 65, and my liver is 127. I am on short time, and I don’t have a lot of time. Would I come back in the right situation for a short-term something with Cody? If anybody out there thinks it’s a good idea, let me know. I don’t know. That would be something because he and I have never had that conversation. We had a couple texts back and forth, and it never came up. So I went, maybe that was just him testing the waters himself.”
