Cody Rhodes has a clear ally in his battle with Roman Reigns and The Rock.

On the February 12 episode of WWE RAW, Cody Rhodes came to the ring and brought up the announcement that he will challenge Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40. He noted that it took a while for him to be able to say that, and the fans helped make it happen by making their voices heard. Rhodes said he was passionate about WWE and his legacy. He quipped that he didn’t want to get emotional because that would make him a crybaby.

Cody brought up The Rock’s “Cody Crybabies” clip. He said he did not say anything bad about The Rock’s family at the press conference. Cody stated that The Rock hit him, so that meant he would hit The Rock back.

Seth Rollins Responds To Cody Rhodes

World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins interrupted. Cody thanked Rollins for coming to his aid at the press conference. Rollins referenced Moana by saying, “What can I say except you’re welcome?” Rollins said that he understood the decision, but Rhodes needed to finish his story for himself, his dad, Rollins, and every fan in the crowd.

The champion explained that the landscape after WrestleMania would be very dark if Cody lost at WrestleMania, and he said it would be the last real chance to dethrone Reigns. Rollins questioned Cody about his plan, as the deck remained stacked against him, much like last year.

He told Cody that he did not need to fight this battle alone, as he was tired of “pricks” like Reigns and The Rock doing whatever they wanted.

Rollins took some blame for the man that Reigns has become. However, he said he was suited to be Rhodes’ shield against Reigns and The Rock.
