We’re not in the third inning anymore, according to Cody Rhodes.
Previously, Paul Heyman said that The Bloodline was only in the third inning, even as Roman Reigns had dominated WWE as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion for months on end. Last fall, Cody Rhodes said they weren’t in the third inning anymore.
On the March 11 episode of WWE RAW, Cody Rhodes spoke with Michael Cole after accepting The Rock’s challenge to a tag team match at WrestleMania 40. Rhodes noted that slapping his “boss” felt good, and it was a receipt. He called the tag team match his chance to get a fair shot at Reigns.
Rhodes was asked to describe what the story meant, and he noted that it was beyond him now, as it was about his family and his fans. After emotionally talking about his mother and his wife, Rhodes targeted Reigns with the end of his message.
Rhodes told “The Tribal Chief” that they were not in the third inning anymore, as they were in the last inning.
Cody also looked forward to hearing Michael Cole saying that a Rhodes had won the world title, and he had finished the story, at WrestleMania 40.
