Professor Bruce Kogut of Columbia University has lauded Intelligent Card Production Systems (ICPS), a subsidiary of Margins Group, for setting the pace for digitisation in Ghana and across the African continent.
He said the company’s high-security solutions and technology which integrated with governance was truly remarkable.
Professor Kogut made the commendation when he led a delegation of MBA students from Columbia University to visit the company.
It was to learn at first-hand the operations of the company and the cutting-edge digital identity and secure card production solutions the company had deployed.
ICPS, a subsidiary of Margins ID Group, plays a pivotal role in this transformation by producing high-security smart cards, including the Ghana Card, a cornerstone of the country’s digital ecosystem.
The Margins ID Group provided the students with an in-depth look at the intricate processes and stringent security measures that define the industry.

A delegation of MBA students from Columbia University recently visited Intelligent Card Production Systems (ICPS), the secure card manufacturing arm of Margins ID Group, to witness first-hand the cutting-edge advancements in digital identity and secure card production.
The Executive Director of Technology at Margins ID Group, Mr Emmanuel Selby, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to shaping Africa’s digital future.

He said the ICPS is a Ghanaian-owned and operated enterprise creating tailored solutions for the nation’s unique challenges.
Mr Selby said the facility was equipped with state-of-the-art technology and produces secure identity cards that integrated with government agencies, banks, and financial institutions, streamlining public services and strengthening trust in digital transactions.
He said the Margins ID Group continued to lead Africa’s digital identity revolution, expanding beyond Ghana to implement secure identity solutions across the continent.

An MBA student on the trip, Maria Hamwi, said she was struck by ICPS’s efforts to reduce fraud and enhance identity verification.
“We have visited several companies, but what’s happening here at ICPS is different,” she noted. “It’s not just about business; it’s about national transformation. Your innovative story must be heard by the world,” she said.
