Kingsley Coman in danger for Euro 2024?

This is a first since his professional debut in 2013-2014, Kingsley Coman will complete a season without winning the championship in which he plays. Indeed, the coronation of Bayer Leverkusen, made official this Sunday following its 5-0 victory against Werder Bremen, deprives Bayern Munich of a twelfth consecutive German championship title.

But Coman's woes don't end there. Exited with an injury in the 50th minute of the match against Cologne (2-0) this Saturday, the French winger suffers from an adductor injury. According to Bayern's official statement, he will miss “several weeks” of competition. Sky Germany goes further and even mentions an end of season for Coman, with unavailability estimated between 5 and 6 weeks.

Big uncertainty for Deschamps

This injury is a hard blow for the former Parisian, who will therefore miss the last matches of the season with the Rekordmeister, including the quarter-final second leg of the Champions League against Arsenal, this Wednesday. But even more worrying, it seriously compromises Coman's chances of playing Euro 2024 with the Blues in Germany this summer.

It now remains to be seen whether Coman will be sufficiently recovered to appear on Didier Deschamps' list for the next European Championship. But one thing is certain, his absence would deprive the Deschamps gang of one of its offensive options.
