Newcastle United appear to have finally filled a key coaching position.
A new boss of the NUFC Under 21s set to be announced.
Over the border, the Daily Record have reported that compensation has now been agreed between the two clubs, with St.Mirren assistant manager Diarmuid O’Carroll the one tasked with bringing through the next generation of Newcastle United stars.
They say that having agreed to join Newcastle United, Diarmuid O’Carroll was absent from Saturday’s 2-1 St Mirren win over Hearts.
Former St Mirren (and Sunderland…) manager Jack Ross is already head of coach development at Newcastle United.
With Diarmuid O’Carroll leaving, a possible replacement for him at St Mirren is former Newcastle United midfielder Brian Kerr, who has worked with the younger St Mirren groups.
The Newcastle United Under 21s haven’t had the greatest of starts to their league season, with two defeats, one draw and just the one win. It can only be beneficial to now have a permanent appointment in place again to take charge of them.
