Two disruptions marred the annual Congressional Baseball Game last night in Washington, D.C.

First, anti-Israel protesters yelled during the national anthem, holding banners and chanting “Free Palestine” and “You’re funding a genocide.” The protesters were in the third row at Nationals Park, near the Democratic dugout.

The crowd responded to the disturbance with chants of “USA! USA!” as the anthem was performed. Four Capitol Police officers stood near the demonstration during the anthem, then moved in to escort the protesters out.

Later, a group of climate change activists were tackled by police when they rushed the field.

In the 2nd inning, a group of eight climate change protesters ran out on the field.

Police emerged from the left field bullpen and other points in the ballpark. They tackled the protesters, who all wore matching “End Fossil Fuel” T-shirt’s.

The group Climate Defiance claims it organized the disruption.

“When eight people tried to protest on the field, our officers quickly stopped them and arrested them,” USCP wrote on X. “The eight people are being charged with federal charges.”
