Atlético de Madrid were beaten on home soil by Athletic Bilbao this Wednesday in the semi-final first leg of the Copa del Rey.

It was a goal scored by Berenguer from the penalty spot in the first period which got the better of the Matelassiers at the Metropolitano (0-1, 25e).

Griezmann thought he had the equalizing ball in the final moments of the game from the penalty spot but this final opportunity was taken away from him by VAR, for an offside by Morata judged to the millimeter.

The Colchoneros will try to make up for it in three weeks in the Basque Country during the return leg. On Tuesday, Mallorca and Real Sociedad went back to back in the other half (0-0).
