Adam Copeland had some words for Brody King tonight on AEW Collision, urging him to take the reins of House of Black and “run” with them.
During tonight’s episode, King defeated Trevor Blackwell handily in a match, and afterward was being interviewed by AEW backstage. Copeland — going by Cope now — interrupted him, and said that he respected both King, Julia Hart, and Buddy Matthews. After talking for a bit, Cope said that he initially wanted to be in a group together, but that he thinks now’s the time for Brody King to take the reins of House of Black.
“We’ve been through a lot, but I hope you know that at the end of all of it, I respect you,” said Copeland. “I respect you [Julia Hart]. I respect Buddy. I think you have the world of potential at your feet. I know what you bring to the table. Man, I felt it. I wanted us to be a group. But tell you what, it’s time for you to take the reins and run.”
The conversation comes as rumors continue to float around that Malakai Black, who was previously the head of the House of Black stable, is no longer with All Elite Wrestling. Whether or not King takes up the mantle as the head of the group will have to wait for now, however.
