Former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion Cora Jade has been injury-prone for the past couple of years. Back in August of 2023, the self-proclaimed Sorceress of Sin packed her things from the locker room and claimed that she would be leaving the NXT brand.
About four months later at the NXT Deadline Premium Live Event, Jade made a shocking return and had her eyes set on the NXT Women’s Championship. But sadly, she suffered a torn ACL during a live event and, as a result, was forced to take more time off from wrestling.
Now, after six months since undergoing surgery, Cora Jade has provided an update on her injury. Jade shared a video of her effortlessly running the ropes.
“6 months to the day,” Cora Jade tweeted.
Jade’s former tag team partner and current NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez replied to the video by poking fun at her injury-prone knee.
“Bum a** knee,” Roxanne Perez tweeted.
A couple of weeks ago, The Prodigy Roxanne Perez successfully defended her NXT Women’s Championship at NXT Heatwave against 2023 NXT Women’s Breakout Star Lola Vice. Following her win, WWE NXT tweeted a post asking the question of who could stop the Prodigy. Cora Jade replied by teasing her return and that she would be the one to dethrone Perez.
“I was told an ACL injury heals in 6-9 months. That was in January. :),” Cora Jade tweeted.
Booker T claims Cora Jade reminds him of AJ Lee
Recently, while speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Booker T mentioned that the former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion reminds him of former WWE Divas Champion and wife of CM Punk, AJ Lee.
“The thing with Cora is you could tell she’s a star. She’s going to be a player in the business. Even once she gets to the main roster, there’s something about Cora that just stands out. She’s different than most of the girls on the roster. She reminds me of AJ Lee so much. She reminds me of that firecracker that was just herself and unapologetic. [Cora is an] ‘I’m going to go out and do it like this, whether you like it or not’ type of girl.
“So I’m glad Cora’s back, because she’s always been one of my favorites. Of course, everybody needs to work on certain things. I can’t wait to get her under my tutelage a little bit, get her on a film study one day, and work with her. She does a lot of things so well, but there’s always certain things you can work on,” Booker T said. [H/T Wrestling Inc.]
