24. WrestleMania 1
Wendi Richter (w/Cyndi Lauper) def. Leilani Kai (c) (w/Fabulous Moolah) – WWF Ladies Championship
Where it all started! And it was a fun start. Cyndi Lauper gave Wendi the motivation she needed and the crowd was loving it. Leilani and Moolah were very much heels and the crowd knew who they were behind and who they wanted to win.
When watching this match back I learned something. I wondered why with Wendi tapping out so much in this match, was that not a thing back then? And it wasn’t. Upon some research, the art of tapping out to submit didn’t happen until the 90’s. It was actually only a verbal quit during submissions during the time of Wendi and Leilani. Maybe I should have known this, but fun to learn it eventually.
23. WrestleMania 34
Naomi won Women’s Battle Royal
What a fun match and to have Naomi win this was great. The NXT women in the match was a fun moment and the “Naomi was never eliminated” was the typical fun moment at the end where someone else thinks they won. In this instance it was Bayley who thought she won by eliminating Sasha Banks. Bring back Battle Royals!
