The first episode of WWE SmackDown on USA Network ended with a surprising twist as Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes joined forces to face Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu in a tag team match at WWE Bad Blood. WWE also filmed a major segment with Rhodes and Reigns on SmackDown this week and the identities of the people behind the segment have been revealed.

On the September 20 episode of SmackDown, Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes faced off at Georgia Tech’s field in Atlanta, and the tension between them grew. Reigns arrived in a line of cars, walking confidently onto the field, while Cody showed up in a stylish sports car.

Reigns promised Rhodes that he would support him at WWE Bad Blood in their match against Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu from The Bloodline. However, he also hinted that he wants something back that is his.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider reported that the scene featuring Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes was filmed earlier in the week at Georgia Tech’s Bobby Dodd Stadium. Cody also made an appearance during the final segment of SmackDown.

Johnson added that Jeremy Borash, Senior Director of Content and Development for WWE NXT, was involved in producing the segment. He has become a key figure for Paul Levesque in creating on-location segments like this one. On top of that, WWE’s Director of Character Development, Rob Fee, was present, as he and Borash have been working together on similar projects recently.

Cody Rhodes also made it abundantly clear that he still isn’t sure whether Roman Reigns will keep his word. Nevertheless, WWE is clearly going all out with Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes’ current storyline and fans couldn’t be happier about that fact.

What’s your opinion on such high-ranking executives working on Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes’ segment on Friday Night SmackDown this week? Are you invested in their storyline now? Sound off in the comments section below!
