Cristiano Ronaldo is “focused on the work ahead of him” after being the victim of new mockery from supporters of Lionel Messi during his last outing with Al-Nassr.

The Portuguese superstar put on a frustrated face after the 2-0 defeat to Saudi Pro League rivals Al-Hilal in the Riyadh Cup. He reacted to the jeers of the public during this meeting, the five-time Ballon d’Or seeming unable to escape his eternal rival Messi and the Argentine’s loyal legion of supporters.

Ronaldo also caused controversy during his time in the tunnel, rubbing an opposing team’s scarf thrown in his direction against his crotch before throwing it back towards the stands. The 39-year-old is a born winner and has never taken defeat well.

Cr7 focused on the future

He is, however, able to focus on the future and quickly forget past events. It was this mindset that took him to the pinnacle of football and allowed him to enjoy remarkable longevity. He who now says he is “focused on the work to come” and on the next deadlines after returning to training.

After recovering from an injury that prevented him from facing Messi in a recent friendly against Inter Miami (MLS), Ronaldo is preparing to return to competition after a mid-season break. Al-Nassr prepare to face Al Feiha in the round of 16 first leg of the AFC Champions League on Wednesday.
