The five-time Ballon d'Or winner was marked out of the match, which acts as a mid-season interval for the Saudi Pro League campaign.

And the former Manchester United forward looked furious after receiving his runners-up medal, gesturing in irritation as he trudged off the pitch.

Side by side with his teammates, Ronaldo then whipped his medal off before reaching the tunnel.

With fans screaming at him, the Portugal international launched his medal high into the crowd with his teammates looking on.

In a huge blow, Ronaldo was snubbed for the player of the tournament award, which went to Milinkovic-Savic instead.

The 39-year-old had a horrible night all round having received a yellow card from referee Tori Penso for booting the ball into the stands.

He also reacted angrily to Lionel Messi chants from fans at the Kingdom Arena.

Eventually, Ronaldo snapped and he turned to the crowd and appeared to shout: "I am here, not Messi!"

He barely had a chance as Al Nassr whimpered to defeat and was often foiled by Kalidou Koulibaly in the Al Hilal defence.

Al Nassr also did not start Sadio Mane, who is back with the club after Senegal crashed out of the Africa Cup of Nations.

The former Liverpool man was eventually brought on but could not make an impact as Al Hilal strolled to victory.

In the end, Ronaldo was not the one to receive the Riyadh Cup prize from The Undertaker, who bizarrely presented the trophy.

The Saudi Pro League is already back underway where Al Nassr will face Al Fateh on Saturday but not before they take on Al Feiha in the AFC Champions League.
