Recently, Cristiano Ronaldo gave an interview to Rio Ferdinand, broadcast on YouTube.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner spoke about several topics, including his former club Real Madrid. According to Diario AS, Ronaldo expressed his love for the club, while explaining why they are so good in the Champions League.

“Real Madrid are the kind of team that don’t give up under pressure. People say they’re lucky in the Champions League, but it’s a question of brains. They’re prepared for these moments. The Bernabeu has a different aura. The energy is different when the big teams go there. They score a goal, but the pressure takes over.

“I won a lot of trophies there, I won everything. It was a pleasure to play for Real Madrid for nine seasons and win four Champions Leagues. I love Real Madrid.”

Cr7 doesn’t believe in it anymore

Ronaldo also spoke about Real Madrid’s chances for this season. While many predict that they will be better than ever with the arrival of Kylian Mbappe, the Portuguese is not so sure.

“Now, if you say Real Madrid are going to be better or not, we don’t know. Mbappé is here now, I think they will still be strong, but I don’t know if they will be better than last year. Only God knows. They have fantastic players and a fantastic team. I think they will be one of the best clubs in the world.”
