One day after Ann Coulter faced a backlash for mocking Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Walz‘s son Gus, conservative radio host Jay Weber is being criticized for his own remarks about the 17-year-old scion of the Minnesota governor.

The younger Walz had a TV moment at the DNC when video of his tearful applause of his father’s speech — when he proudly pointed and shouted “That’s my dad!” — went viral.

“Sorry, but this is embarrassing for both father and son,” Weber, a host at Milwaukee talk station 1130 WISN, wrote on X. “If the Walzs [sic] represent today’s American man, this country is screwed; ‘Meet my son, Gus. He’s a blubbering bitch boy. His mother and I are very proud.'”

Weber has since removed the post, but Milwaukee County Supervisor Shawn Rolland shared a screenshot.

The younger Walz has ADHD, an anxiety disorder and a non-verbal learning disorder, according to his parents in an interview published before the convention. That, coupled with the facts that he is still a minor and not himself running for public office brought down a wave of condemnation on Weber, who has since apologized.

“This is a fuller apology for something stupid and hurtful I said yesterday. I said it without thinking or having the facts. No excuses. Having been a teacher, I’ve had a standard of never involving children, I broke that and I’m disappointed with myself. I apologize to the Walz family and anyone who was offended. I feel horrible, I am so sorry.”

Weber’s station bio asserts that “the tone of Jay’s show is aggressive and passionate, highlighting his own opinions and the opinions of listeners and callers. Jay is also known for his edgy sense-of-humor.”

Many pointed out that, while Weber had apologized and removed his post about Walz, a 2015 bit from him about trading livestock for the hand of a then 17-year-old Malia Obama was still live.

One thing that wasn’t still live? Weber himself.

The 1130 WISN website indicated that The Jay Weber Show was guest-hosted today by Ben Yount.

Deadline reached out to WISN and station license-holder iHeartRadio for comment and this story will be updated if one is received.
