IMG Credit: WWEYes, another. There have been all kinds of changes in WWE as of late and some of them have nothing to do with the wrestling whatsoever. In addition to a way the wrestling itself works, there have also been changes to the way the shows are presented. WWE has made several adjustments and now we have another one coming, though it is to something that was not there in the first place.

According to PWInsider.com, WWE is planning to limit the use of augmented reality (AR), which includes the computer generated graphics that air during entrances. The technology will still be used, but not as frequently and possibly limited to just major events. Last week’s SmackDown is believed to be the final time it will be regularly used. This is part of WWE’s efforts to limit the amount of production equipment and staff are needed at its regular shows.

Opinion: This is something that makes sense and feels like more of a cost cutting measure. While WWE has more money than it knows what to do with, there are places where things can be cut without causing a major issue. Is anyone going to stop watching WWE over the lack of special graphics during entrances on a regular weekly show? I can’t imagine that to be the case, so why keep spending money on a glorified bell and whistle?
