Tory Lanez’s 10-Year Sentence In The Meg Thee Stallion Shooting Case
The six-year-old acted as his dad’s support system during Lanez’s trial in the Megan Thee Stallion shooting case in August 2023.
The legal ordeal stemmed from an incident in July 2020, when Lanez was alleged to have shot Stallion in the foot following a dispute as they left Kylie Jenner‘s home.
The court found Lanez guilty of all three charges, shooting the victim by negligently discharging a gun, illegally possessing a firearm, and committing assault with a firearm. The judge consequently sentenced him to 10 years in prison without the possibility of parole, per ABC News.
Lanez has repeatedly proclaimed his innocence since the charges were first filed against him.
After receiving his sentence, Lanez continued to assert that the media was presenting an unbalanced and misleading narrative surrounding the trial.
In a series of social media posts and interviews, he has sought to clarify some things, stating that he believes the truth will ultimately prevail.
“I have never let a hard time intimidate me,” he wrote in an Instagram Story post. “I will never let no jail time eliminate me. Regardless of how they try to spin my words, I have always maintained my innocence and I always will.”
“I’ve faced adversity my whole life and every time it looked like I would lose, I came out on top,” Lanez continued. “This is nothing but another moment where my back is against the wall and I refuse to stop fighting till I come out victorious. Tough times don’t last, tough people do.”
