Dakota Kai was thrilled to go back to France for Backlash.

WWE hosted its first-ever PLE in mainland Europe earlier this month. Backlash 2024 emanated from Lyon in France, with some incredible matches on show for the lively crowd.

The fans were loud throughout the event, but they absolutely exploded in volume for the main event match. They sang “Il Est Vraiment Phenomenal” for a good portion of the match between AJ Styles and Cody Rhodes. This arguably rivaled any other crowd in WWE history.

Dakota Kai was looking forward to the show and did not disappoint. She and IYO SKY spoke with WrestleZone’s Bill Pritchard prior to the event. They were asked about which international PLE they were most looking forward to in the future.

With events in Scotland (Clash at the Castle), Germany (Bash in Berlin), and Saudi Arabia (King and Queen of the Ring), they had several options to choose from.

However, Dakota Kai named France as the one she was most excited for. She noted that the crowd was electric for their previous shows there and talked about how they sang Seth Rollins’ entrance for ten minutes straight last time.

“I would say France. I’ve been there before, but every time we’ve gone to France, and I’ve been a couple times now,” she explained. “I have one for NXT and then one for a road live event that we did last year. The crowd has been incredible. Like, that crowd, Seth Rollins was standing in the ring just like this for almost 10 minutes, and the crowd would not stop singing his song.”

IYO SKY then chimed in, agreeing with everything Dakota Kai said.

“I 100% agree”, IYO said. “The crowd is so good!”
