Damian Priest would take great pride in being WWE’s second-ever Puerto Rican world champion.
As continues to reign as one-half of the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions, Damian Priest also has a guaranteed opportunity to become a world champion as well. As the 2023 Men’s Money in the Bank winner, Priest has earned a future title shot of his choosing. With this in mind, there is a lingering possibility that Priest could claim the distinction of being the second-ever Puerto Rican world champion in WWE. During a recent interview with Josh Martinez, Priest shared his excitement about potentially reaching this feat in the near future.
“I get goosebumps [thinking about it],” Priest said. “That’s the highest honor in this business for representation. For me, it’s a necessity. I think where we are right now and what we’ve accomplished in the short amount of time, especially myself, I’ve been here and trying to represent, that would be the icing on the cake. I feel like it’s needed.”
WWE’s first and only Puerto Rican world champion, of course, is Pedro Morales, whose reign as WWWF Heavyweight Champion spanned a whopping 1,027 days.
