Damian Priest was to appear in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, but had the opportunity taken away from him.
Rumors swirled at the time about Damian Priest appearing in the movie. Fightful Select reported that he was asked to read for the role of Namor in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, although he didn’t end up appearing in the film.
Damian Priest spoke with Chris Van Vliet, who asked about Priest being cast in the film. The former World Heavyweight Champion revealed that the role was taken by him, although not by Marvel Studios or Disney.
“There’s a long story, but basically, it got taken away from me. Though not by Marvel.” Damian Priest said, cryptically.
Chris Van Vliet went on to clarify that the “previous regime”, when Vince McMahon ran the company, did not let him appear in the hit Marvel movie.
He suggested that Damian Priest could appear in another Marvel movie. Priest agreed, but noted that if he appeared in the movie, his career may have gone differently and he may not have won the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 40.
“I feel like it could happen now. It’s funny because now I’m busier than ever.” Damian Priest said. “But look, I’m good with it. Maybe I do something different, go a different route, and I’m not sitting here with you as the World Champ. I mean, being a world champion. I won a World Championship at WrestleMania.” He noted.
“I don’t know if that happens if things went differently.” Damian Priest said. “I live a certain way now that I can’t look back and regret. I can’t dwell on things that didn’t go my way, I have to focus on what’s next and what I can do positively for myself.”
