Damian Priest shares his thoughts following his win at WWE Backlash France.

At WWE Backlash France, Damian Priest defeated Jey Uso to retain the World Heavyweight Championship, thanks to some help from his Judgment Day stablemates. This marked Priest’s first televised defense of the title since he won the gold at WrestleMania 40. Priest expressed his frustration with his stablemates Finn Balor and JD McDonagh after the match. He told them he did not need their help. He also stopped them from attacking Uso. The group then stood tall together.

Speaking on WWE’s The Bump, Damian Priest was asked whether the moment was everything he thought it would be.

“It was exactly what I thought it would be,” Damian Priest said. “I’m still champion, and I did it in front of a rocking France crowd. That was awesome.”

Priest was also asked about the apparent dissension in the Judgment Day after the match, and he said that was Judgment Day business.

“Byron, that’s Judgment Day business,” Priest said. “I’d rather talk about the fact that I still am the World Heavyweight Champion. I beat ‘Main Event’ Jey Uso. Let’s talk about that. Because that will live forever.”
