However, while the Blaugrana assured the matter would be resolved on Friday, it was reported that La Liga had no plans to register Olmo or Victor, leaving them free.
On Friday evening, however, FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta may have indicated why he and Barcelona are so confident. On his WhatsApp status, he shared at 9:19 p.m. CEST then deleted a text that appears to come from the RFEF. It appears to support Barcelona’s claim that Olmo and Pau Victor are recorded, although there is little way to verify the text.

The text, as shared by Gerard Romero on Jijantes, says the following.
“The RFEF, after hearing the arguments of the FCB, shares them in this art. 130.2 The RFEF regulations are NOT applicable to the Dani Olmo/Pau Víctor case, because, in this case, the withdrawal of said players did not take place due to the will of the club (which is provided for in this article) but due to external factors contrary to the wishes of the club. It is indisputable that the club and the players wish to continue to be part of the FCB squad for the duration of the season. This interpretation of the rule is consistent with the obvious objective of the said article, which is precisely to promote the stability of the composition of the players’ squads. »
From there, we don’t really know what will happen. The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) is responsible for approving player licenses, but it only does so upon instruction from La Liga, which has not yet happened.
If neither player is registered, then both will be free players, and Barcelona run the risk of losing them. The club appears to be considering a mutual termination of their contracts and then an attempt to retain Victor and Olmo next summer if that happens. However, the club maintained a strong stance, saying it was confident both would be registered and was likely to take the matter to court before that happened.
