Dani Olmo’s agent, Andy Bara, has shed light on the planned return of the talented attacking midfielder to Barcelona, acknowledging that the trust Olmo and his family have in him made it possible.

During a comprehensive interview, Bara addressed the question of how Olmo decided to leave La Masia at such a young age.

How did the move happen?

According to the agent, his connection with Olmo’s family played a significant role in this decision. He had known Dani’s parents well, which fostered a sense of trust between them.

They accepted the path he laid out, which ultimately led Dani to join Dinamo Zagreb. Bara’s familiarity with the Croatian club’s youth system helped him convince Olmo’s family that it was a sound choice.

“I knew his parents well. They trusted me and accepted the path I proposed to them. And thanks to my contacts at Dinamo, I knew that we would do well there,” he told GOAL (h/t SPORT).

He explained that having worked with Dinamo Zagreb’s lower teams, he had confidence that Olmo would receive the opportunities he needed to flourish as a player.

“In a certain sense, I could control the situation. That Dani could develop as a footballer, that he would have the opportunity to play.

This decision turned out to be beneficial, as Olmo progressed successfully through his career, moving from Dinamo Zagreb to RB Leipzig and eventually making his way back to Barcelona and the Spanish national team.

“Everything went well. First at Dinamo, then at RB Leipzig, now at Barcelona and the Spanish national team. It’s working out very well,” he added.

Mikayil Faye’s transfer

Furthermore, Bara also reflected on his work with another player, Mikayil Faye. He shared that there were transfers that might not have gained as much attention but brought him immense joy.

Previously, he facilitated the transfer of Faye from NK Kustosija Zagreb, a club in the Croatian third league, to Barcelona.

Afterwards, Faye made a move to Rennes, which further emphasised Bara’s role in nurturing and advancing his clients’ careers in the competitive world of football.

“Recently I took a player from NK Kustosija Zagreb, a club in the Croatian third league, to Barcelona. It was Mikayil Faye. Then we transferred him to Rennes,” he said.
