Daniel Garcia thinks most wrestlers do the job because they seek validation from others.

At AEW Full Gear 2024, Daniel Garcia picked up his first title win in the company. He beat Jack Perry to win the TNT Championship after years of stop-start booking and big losses in the promotion.

Daniel Garcia spoke at the Full Gear post-show press conference and was asked if he was self-conscious about his booking, owing to his inconsistent booking in the past. He revealed that he thinks most wrestlers are and believes most people become wrestlers because they want validation from others.

The new TNT Champion added that he has the confidence to know that the crowd will always be behind him and care about him.

“I feel like every performer, probably in any form of entertainment, kind of feels that way. Everybody assumes that we’re all insecure—that’s probably why we’re wrestlers or why we get into the entertainment business. It’s because we want validation from other people, right?” Daniel Garcia said.

“So, I feel like a lot of us are self-conscious, and of course, we have those moments where we think, ‘Dang, I hope they’re still with me. I hope this isn’t the last time the crowd’s going to get behind me.'”

“But if you’re confident enough in your work and yourself—and I’m sure Tony can attest to this—I think I’m one of the most confident people in my work and in myself. If you have that confidence, you shouldn’t ever worry that people won’t come for you.”

“I think people can sense that confidence, and that’s something I’m very sure of in myself. No matter what happens, I believe I’ll always be able to keep the crowd caring about me—or at least, I hope so!” He added.
