Daniel Garcia spent a great deal of time in AEW as a member of the Jericho Appreciation Society.

All Elite Wrestling‘s Daniel Garcia recently sat down with Denise Salcedo. When asked about his time with Chris Jericho in the Jericho Appreciation Society, Garcia said they didn’t even know each other when they were initially paired together.

“It’s crazy because me and Jericho didn’t know each other when we were put in that group,” Daniel Garcia revealed. “He came up to me one day and he told me like, ‘Hey, I think we’re gonna start this group, the Jericho Appreciation Society, and I think you’re gonna be in it.’ That was one of our first conversations. We didn’t know each other, he didn’t know anything about me. I didn’t know him personally, so it was confusing.

“Obviously, it’s like a big pressure situation. You’re getting put in a stable with the top guy in AEW, one of the top wrestlers of all time. I feel like at that point I was used to high-pressure situations because of all the crazy things I did when I first got to AEW. I feel like I was kind of used to the high pressure. So the pressure didn’t bother me. I was just confused as to like how did this happen? This guy doesn’t even know me, why did he put me in this group?”

Don’t be afraid to try new things

When asked what the most important thing Chris Jericho taught him while was a member of the JAS, Garcia said it was not to be afraid to try new things.

“Jericho has taught me a lot. I think the main thing he taught me is not to be scared of trying new things,” Daniel Garcia said. “Because he’s somebody like — Jericho does not care. He’ll try a million things, if one of them sticks, great. If the rest of the 999,999,999 doesn’t work it’s fine because one of them stuck.

“And I think that’s the biggest thing Jericho has taught me. Try new things, don’t be afraid to try new things. If it doesn’t work there’s always next week and you can try something new. That’s when I started doing the leather pants, the dance, all that kind of stuff. So he really just helped me get over the fear of trying and I think that’s so important in wrestling.”
