Darby Allin believes AEW is doing a lot of good long-term storytelling in 2024.
All Elite Wrestling‘s Darby Allin was a recent guest on Busted Open Radio. When asked if he believes wrestling should be booked more week to week as opposed to long-term storytelling, Allin said he loves stretching things out and telling a story and he believes AEW is doing that right now with multiple talents on the show.
“Well, I come from the world of film. I dropped out of film school, so I love stretching things out. I love telling a story,” Darby Allin said. “Like, obviously, I feel like, in the sense of AEW, the first year was dream matches. But I do feel like now, if you look at the whole thing, it’s all story-based, and whether it’s dragged out, or whether it’s week to week, it’s still a story.
“But I love to really sink my teeth into something. So for me in particular, what I’m doing with Jon [Moxley], that isn’t week to week, you know what I mean? That is just like you guys build something here, and that’s exactly what we’re doing. So I just know from my case, and I know for guys, whether you say like an MJF or a Swerve and Hangman, that isn’t week to week. That is big, you know like, drawn out. So I think it’s just different strokes for every performer.”
