Carlo Ancelotti reveals when new signing Kylian Mbappe could make his Real Madrid debut while providing an update on Jude Bellingham.
Having officially completed his move to Real Madrid last month, Mbappe is currently enjoying an extended holiday and has not been included in the club’s travelling squad for their pre-season tour of the United States. The France captain has yet to play a game since his Euro semi-final appearance against Spain, but Carlo Ancelotti has hinted that the forward could make his debut in the club’s first competitive game of the new 2024/25 season against Atalanta in the UEFA Super Cup.
The Italian coach told American journalists:
“Mbappé can obviously play in the Super Cup from the start. Jude Bellingham too and others. They are prepared, they have followed a plan and they will all play. »
The Super Cup to start?
Like Mbappe, Jude Bellingham has not travelled to America for pre-season after leading England to the Euro 2024 final. The player, however, has been following a strict diet even while on holiday, as confirmed by the Los Blancos boss, and could feature against the Serie A side on August 14.
The reigning Spanish champions, who lost their opening two friendlies against AC Milan and FC Barcelona, will look to end their tour with a win against Chelsea in North Carolina on August 6.
