David Corenswet is in talks to line up his next big leading role after playing DC’s iconic Superman. The 31-year-old actor is playing the Man of Steel in Superman, from director James Gunn. The movie, due in 2025, will relaunch the DC film universe. After spending the summer filming as the timeless hero, David is eyeing a starring role in Mr. Irrelevant, which tells the story of NFL star John Tuggle. Keep reading to find out more… If you were unaware, Mr. Irrelevant is the title given to the last player who is chosen during the annual NFL draft. John was the final athlete to be drafted in 1983, and he played for the New York Giants. He died just a few years later in 1986 after being diagnosed with cancer. Deadline reported that David is in talks to play John in the movie, which will be directed by Jonathan Levine and has a script from Nick Santora. According to the outlet, the movie “will tell the inspiring and heartfelt true story of Tuggle, drafted by the New York Giants, and his enduring impact on his team and teammates.” Little else is known about the project yet, but we will update you as we learn more.
