DAZN, the anger of the first subscribers

The possible happiness of some is the unhappiness of others…

On Monday, DAZN’s CEO announced the launch of a limited offer, in order to make its subscription plan with and without commitment more financially accessible. Almost exclusive broadcaster of Ligue 1, the English platform struggled to convince its potential customers.

The fault lies with a subscription price deemed too high. As a reminder, the price was 39.99 euros per month for the version without commitment and 29.99 euros per month with a twelve-month commitment. Now, the first will cost 19.99 euros for the first two months, while the annual offer goes from 29.99 to 19.99 euros per month for one year.

DAZN, what about the first subscribers?

Will those who subscribed before this “discount” be able to benefit from this price drop? According to the platform, they will not be able to benefit from retroactivity or compensation. However, they will be able to take the annual subscription at 19.99 euros per month by contacting the channel’s customer service.

“We feel like we’re being ripped off”reacted a subscriber DAZN from the first hour, at the microphone of BFM TV. DAZN replies that ” “We can’t ask for everything. Canal and Netflix always make promotions, and no one asks them to make it retroactive.” The sports streaming service specifies that

“When we do a promotion, it’s to attract more customers.”
