The transfer deadline day madness has already begun and there could be a huge shock on the cards for Chelsea with regards to their pursuit of Victor Osimhen.
It seems that the Blues have been courting the Nigerian hit-man all summer long, and we head into the final few hours with the news that Napoli have agreed a deal for the striker… with Saudi Pro League giants, Al Ahli.

CaughtOffside columnist and transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, advanced the details of the operation on X (formerly Twitter).
A total package of €75-€80m to Napoli (far less than the original €130m release clause) and €25m-€30m per season net to the player are the very persuasive terms of the deal agreed.
Crazy hours ahead in the Osimhen story
The West Londoners still retain a glimmer of hope as it’s understood that the final decision will be down to the player and he is believed to want a move to Stamford Bridge rather than to Saudi Arabia.
The stumbling block at this stage appears to be financial, given that the Saudi’s can guarantee the player a much higher salary than he would earn at Chelsea, and they’re willing to put a release clause into the contract, which is understood to be a key element of any deal with Al Ahli being successful in gazumping the Premier League outfit.

With just over 12 hours to go until the window closes, there has to be a quick decision made by the player, in order that final negotiations have the time to conclude successfully.
There’s also the small matter of a medical to be completed in that time too, and no club will put pen to paper until that is complete.
