After a record-smashing run in theaters worldwide over the summer, Marvel Studios‘ superhero flick Deadpool & Wolverine, teaming Ryan Reynolds’ Merc with a Mouth and Hugh Jackman’s Adamantium-clawed Marvel mutant, has been set to begin streaming on Disney+ on November 12.
Surpassing Joker to become the highest-grossing Rated-R film of all time, the Deadpool threequel opens on a listless Wade Wilson (Reynolds) toiling away in civilian life. His days as the morally flexible mercenary, Deadpool, behind him. But when his home world faces an existential threat, Wade must reluctantly suit up again with an even more reluctantlier… reluctanter? Reluctantest? He must convince a reluctant Wolverine (Jackman) to… oh hell, just watch the movie. Synopses are stupid.
Shawn Levy directed the pic which grossed over $1.34 billion worldwide, from his script written with Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, Zeb Wells and Reynolds. He and Reynolds also produced alongside Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige.
Marvel talents reprising in the new film included Morena Baccarin as Deadpool’s fiancée, Vanessa; Brianna Hildebrand as mutant Negasonic Teenage Warhead; Jennifer Garner as Elektra; Wesley Snipes as Blade; Leslie Uggams as Blind Al; Karan Soni as taxi driver Dopinder; Stefan Kapicic as Colossus; Shioli Kutsuna as Negasonic’s girlfriend, Yukio; and Rob Delaney as X-Force member Peter.
Newcomers to the cast of the Deadpool franchise included Emma Corrin as Cassandra Nova, Matthew Macfadyen as Mr. Paradox, and Channing Tatum as the superhero he’d long wanted to play, Gambit.
