Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta starrer Kal Ho Naa Ho recently re-released and it reignited major nostalgia. The film had an ensemble cast and also starred popular actress Delnaaz Irani. The film’s scenes and songs continues to remain memorable to date. One of the thing that grabbed attention was climax of the film where SRK his counting his few minutes. Delnaaz Irani recently opened up about how it was tough shooting SRK death scene and sheds light on set environment.
Delnaaz Irani recalls shooting SRK death scene
Recalling how it was to be on Kal Ho Naa Ho sets, She told The Indian Express, “Every time I saw SRK, I had cold feet. I just couldn’t speak. There was something about him that was magnanimous. The way he appears on screen in any film, like a hero, the same thing happened every time to me during the shoot. Of course, we spoke, but more than that, it was just observing the superstar that he is, the way he was with people, and his performance was just like look and learn.”
Sharing how she was going to miss the shooting of SRK’s iconic death scene in Kal Ho Naa Ho, Delnaaz credited Nikhil Advani for stopping her. She shared, “I am so thankful to Nikhil Advani. Like a stupid girl, I was going to skip the scene that day because I had dates for Yes Boss. He said that scene was the essence of all the hard work; there were no lines, but just expressions. That whole scene was such that everybody was crying without glycerin. Thank God Nikhil told me it was an important scene to sum up the character.”
For those unversed, the movie was backed by Karan Johar’s Dharma production and directed by Nikkhil Advani. It starred Jaya Bachchan and Lilette Dubey as well, Delnaaz essayed the role of Preity’s bestfriend Sweetu in the movie.
On the work front, Delnaaz is all set to a do a show on Zee Tv and announcement of it will be made soon.
