The Delta State House of Assembly has suspended Hon. Chukudi Dafe, the lawmaker representing the Ukwuani Constituency, for alleged gross misconduct.
The suspension, effective for 14 legislative days, was proposed by the Majority Leader, Engr. Emeka Nwaobi of Aniocha North, and seconded by the Chief Whip, Hon. Perkins Umukoro. The motion was promptly passed without any further clarification on the specific allegations against Dafe.

Sources within the Assembly report that the suspension has stirred discontent among lawmakers, some of whom are reportedly displeased with the leadership’s approach to internal disciplinary matters. Despite calls for transparency, the Assembly’s leadership has withheld details about the alleged misconduct, fuelling public speculation.
