After the victory of the French team against Chile on Tuesday in Marseille (2-0), the coach of the Blues had a clear message to convey.

It is with a feeling contrast » that Didier Deschamps concluded this first gathering of the year 2024. While the European Nations Championship looms in a few months, the Blues have made two unequal copies. Three days after a clear defeat against Germany (0-2), they had the merit of obtaining a more positive result against Chile (3-2), but the content remains very suitable for improvement.

If Didier Deschamps did not shirk his responsibility, the coach of the France team had another rant to make, Wednesday evening, after the meeting at the Vélodrome against Chile.

“This shouldn’t happen”

Next Sunday, Olympique de Marseille will face Paris Saint-Germain for a highly anticipated Classic. The Marseille public did not hesitate to jeer the players of the capital club, starting with captain Kylian Mbappé.

I'm not surprised, unfortunately, lamented Deschamps. Everyone knows the rivalry with PSG and the match on Sunday. It shouldn't happen, it's the France team, it's the captain (Mbappé). Afterwards, it's not the whole stadium either. But this is not specific to Marseille. Elsewhere in the province, other players may have been whistled. In competition, here, there are no worries. But it shouldn't. Come on, I'll be nice: it's disappointing, to say the least“, concluded the coach.
