Barcelona have found their annual pre-season tour of the USA to be quite lucrative, with the club gaining some much-needed revenue from their summer trips.
The last two tours to the US have proven to be quite successful and as such, the Blaugrana will once again be flying to the North American nation for the pre-season this year.
And, the details of the tour, with the matches, opponents, dates, and venues, have now surfaced.
Barcelona will face three heavyweights
As per MARCA, Barcelona will kickstart their journey in the Soccer Champions Tour with a match against Premier League heavyweights Manchester City.
The contest will take place on July 30, with the Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida acting as the host for the blockbuster encounter.
Three days later, on August 3, Barcelona will play the biggest game of the tour – the El Clasico against Real Madrid, at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
The venue holds a capacity of 82,500 and if previous tours are any indicator, the arena should be jampacked once again.
Barcelona have gotten the better of Real Madrid in each of their last two pre-season tours, beating them 1-0 in Las Vegas in 2022 and prevailing 3-0 in Arlington, Texas last year.
And the Catalans will be eager to make it three in a row in the pre-season friendlies against their bitter rivals.
Once the game against Real Madrid is out of the way, Barcelona will take on AC Milan on August 6, at the M&T Stadium in Baltimore, Maryland.
Given that players will be returning in mid-July after the Euros/Copa America, there will not be much time for preparations. Things could get further trickier for Barcelona as they are likely to appoint a new manager.
So, the three matches, against high-quality oppositions, will be crucial to get into the groove before the season starts.
