Patel makes his directorial debut in this no-holds-barred revenge thriller.
If you've ever wanted to see Dev Patel deliver a John Wick-style beatdown, then Monkey Man is the film for you.
Directed by Patel and produced by Jordan Peele, Monkey Man is inspired by the legend of Hanuman, a Hindu god who appears in the Ramayana. The film introduces us to Kid (Patel), an anonymous, gorilla mask-wearing street fighter with a dark past. But when Kid manages to infiltrate the inner circle of the corrupt leaders who killed his mother and suppress the poor, he'll embark on an explosive quest of retribution.
From the looks of the trailer, said quest will be one bloody ride, with Patel turning everything from mirror shards to pots and pans to aquariums into deadly weapons.

Monkey Man hits theaters Apr. 5.
