Devara director Koratala Siva wishes to cast Ranbir Kapoor or Ranveer Singh in the Jr NTR sequel

Koratala Siva the director behind the successful action drama Devara: Part 1, recently opened up about the much-anticipated sequel. He expressed his aspirations to feature two prominent Bollywood actors. Despite receiving mixed reviews, Devara: Part 1, starring Jr NTR and Janhvi Kapoor, is on track to cross the impressive Rs 500 crore mark in global box office earnings. This success has fueled Siva and his team as they embark on plans for Devara: Part 2. The director and his team are committed to making it even more impactful.

In a recent interview with Zoom, Siva addressed the potential for cameo appearances in the sequel. Emphasizing the importance of character depth, he clarified that while they won’t be just cameos, they are working to introduce some major talents from the film industry. “I won’t say they are cameos. These will be very crucial characters in the film, and we plan to unveil them character by character very soon,” he stated.

Regarding the possibility of Bollywood stars appearing in Devara: Part 2, Siva expressed his desire to see either Ranveer Singh or Ranbir Kapoor join the ensemble. “I have my own wishlist, and to be honest, I would love to see Ranveer Singh or Ranbir Kapoor enter the world of Devara. I won’t mention too many names from the Telugu or Tamil industries as it could lead to excessive speculation,” he explained.

Koratala Siva on casting Janhvi Kapoor

In another conversation, Koratala Siva shared his thoughts on casting Janhvi Kapoor, who made her Telugu debut with Devara. Speaking to India Today, he remarked that Janhvi has a special connection to the South, stating, “I don’t believe in this North and South divide. Here, people feel that Janhvi is part of our family because of her late mother, Sridevi. In our villages, she is considered like a daughter to us. We’ve eagerly awaited her presence, and we believe that the pairing of Jr NTR and Janhvi is a strong one.”

When addressing Janhvi’s limited screen time, Siva assured fans that her character would develop significantly in the sequel. “She is poised to bring a refreshing perspective and various dimensions to her role. This will be explored in part two. There’s plenty of drama and unexpected twists awaiting her character. So, audience members will have to wait for part two to see much more of Janhvi,” he added.

About Devara Part 1

Devara: Part 1 was released on September 27. It features an ensemble cast including Jr NTR, Janhvi Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, and Prakash Raj. Thus far, the film has grossed over Rs 250 crore at the domestic box office across all languages. It further solidified its success and paved the way for future instalments.
